White Streak

Location:
Berkeley Boulders
Area:
Indian Rock
Formation:
Picnic Table Wall

The White Streak is a light section of rock on the left side of Picnic Table Wall, the long, low wall across the street from the main Indian Rock. The problem is to ascend only using holds in or on the edge of the light colored rock. No holds for the hands nor feet to left or right are "on." There are numerous small holds and lots of acceptable variations. (One variation is shown in the video.) It is somewhat harder for short people. But the real difficulty is getting the balance right. If you lean out too far, your hands will pop off the small holds. If you lean in too close to the rock, your feet will slime off the slippery footholds. The White Streak has been done one handed, left and right, and done in flip-flops.
